TOM SIMONSON

PRESIDENT COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL / ROOF COATINGS

Tom Simonson has worked his whole life as a painter and supervisor in the commercial paint industry and wallcoverings, and has completed the master painter training. Twenty-five years ago, Tom moved his family to Deer Park for the lifestyle and outdoor activities this area offered. In 2015, Tom Simonson suffered a serious car accident that sidelined him for an entire year. When he recovered, his employment was no longer there. Tom created SpecTec Coatings and went to work doing what he does best - building relationships with customers. Tom spends most of his time on the phone and meeting clients at jobsites. The rest of his time, Tom is snowmobiling, hunting or fishing.

DREW MATTILA

VICE PRESIDENT INDUSTRIAL / COMMERCIAL

Drew Mattila cut his teeth growing up in his family painting business. His experience varied between industrial and commercial painting. Drew also moved into Deer Park 10 years ago for the outdoors activities and lifestyle. Drew joined SpecTec Coatings in 2016 as an equal partner. Drew controls the operations of the business and finishes up what Tom starts. Drew tries to hunt, fish and snowmobile as much as Tom while also spending time with his young family.

Long-time Deer Park residents Tom Simonson and Drew Mattila started SpecTec Coatings in 2016. Collectively, our leadership team has over 70 years of experience in the industry from painting and supervising to managing and ownership.
